2016 - Present: Chinese New Year charity drives to help Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society Free Meal Centre

In Singapore, we spread Chinese New Year cheers to those in need by donating rice to the Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society Free Meal Centre for the past few years. A kg of rice were donated with every Chinese New Year hamper sold in Singapore.


 

2003 - Present: "Bucket of Gold" Annual Charity Campaign

“Bucket of Gold” is another annual charity campaign initiated by Eu Yan Sang in Malaysia since 2003. The campaign aims to support educational and charitable causes. It has since raised over RM$1 million for 16 worthy causes, such as Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor & Federal Territory, Pusat Penjagaan Kanak Kanak Cacat Taman Megah, Selangor School for the Deaf, Victory Youth Centre, Yayasan Sunbeams House, New Era College and Yok Choy Independent High School, Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation Malaysia, Lovely Disabled Home in Selangor and Taman Megah Handicapped and Disabled Children's Home.

2020: Provision of Free Co Immunity Soup During Covid-19 Pandemic

We partnered three leading healthcare institutions - the Integrative Medical Centre of Hong Kong, the Centre for Clinical Trials on Chinese Medicine and the State Key Laboratory of Research on Bioactivities & Clinical Applications on Medicinal Plants, in launching an initiative to provide a TCM immunity boosting product - Co Immunity Soup (Co 免疫湯) for the frontline medical workers in Hong Kong.

This immunity soup is specially developed by the Institute of Chinese Medicine of Chinese University of Hong Kong and is adapted from a TCM formula previously distributed to frontline medical workers in Hong Kong in 2003, for protection against SARS. Despite tight supply and rising prices of the herbs used, we were able to produce 14,000 sachets of “Co” Immunity Soup at our GMP factory in less than two weeks.

2017 - 2019: Fundraising campaign for Singapore Cancer Society in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month

We raised funds for Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness month. A percentage of proceeds are given to SCS with every Bak Foong Pill, Menoease, Radiance Bird’s Nest Range, Vitality Plus and Hair for Hair Capsules sold.



 

   

2019: Eu Yan Sang's 140th Anniversary Charity Dinner raised over RM1.2 million for TAFF

In Malaysia, we raised fund to help poor couples with fertility problems under the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation (TAFF) at our anniversary celebration for the second time, after 10 years.

The event was graced by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, founder of TAFF.

2014: 'Eu Yan Sang's 135th Anniversary Raised RM$1.26 Million for Cancer Research and Education

We are honoured to have Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Bin Tun Hussein,Minister of Defence, Malaysia, as our Guest-of-Honour (GOH) at our 135th Annual Charity Gala Dinner held on 17 September 2014 at Genting Resorts World in Genting Highlands.

Close to 1,000 guests comprising donors, employees, business partners and VIPs joined the Charity Gala Dinner Show by Richard Clayderman, and contributed a total of RM$1,260,000 to Cancer Research Initiative Foundation & the Registered Trustees of Joseph William Yee Eu Foundation.

2014: Launch of the 'Flag Bearer Education Foundation' to aid children of MH370 and MH17 cabin crews

An education foundation, the Flag Bearer Education Foundation for children of MH17 and MH370 crew members, was formed at the Eu Yan Sang’s 135th Anniversary Charity Gala Dinner Show, with a RM1 million pledge from Eu Yan Sang and the Genting Group. The Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was appointed as pro-tem founder patron of the foundation.

2012 – Present: Funding for Families with Children Below Six Years Who Require Special Education

In Hong Kong, Eu Yan Sang Charitable Foundation supports various projects to help families with children suffering from mental or physical disabilities, autism, cerebral palsy or similar neurological impairments, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities. More than 1,200 children and family members from Heep Hong Society, Fu Hong Society, Po Leung Kuk, Caritas Hong Kong, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals and Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association have benefited from this funding.

2013: Hundreds of Blessings

Another scheme we launched in Malaysia was a charity project to collect scrap cloth and fabric from the public to sew 100 hand-stitched blankets for the underprivileged children of Yayasan Sunbeams Home. Hand-stitched blankets are considered symbols of love and blessing that are passed down from one generation to the next. It represents the donor generation giving the recipient generation good wishes for a healthy and safe childhood.

2013: Project We Care: Stop Bed Bugs

Our staff in Singapore lent a hand to low-income residents at Thong Kheng Seniors Activity Centre (Queenstown) who were affected by bed bug infestation by spring-cleaning their homes.

2012: Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration for Senior Citizens

In Singapore, our staff contributed their time to organise a celebration for lonely senior citizens and needy families. The staff worked with South West CDC / Fei Yue Seniors Activity Centre.

2012: Adoption of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society (THK)

In conjunction with Eu Yan Sang Integrative Health’s 10th year anniversary, we adopted Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society (THK) as our beneficiary. From June till the end of 2012, donations were collected from donation boxes that were placed in Eu Yan Sang clinics islandwide. Eu Yan Sang Clinics topped up an additional 10% of the total sum collected and donated the full sum to THK.

2012: Participation in "Project We Care - Garden Party @ Istana"

We participated in "Project We Care - Garden Party @ Istana", an initiative by the People's Association and Community Development Council in Singapore. This event was a pre-Chinese New Year celebration meant for 1500 less fortunate families.

2012: Launch of the "Community Grants Project 2012" in Hong Kong

In Hong Kong, Eu Yan Sang Charitable Foundation launched "Community Grants Project 2012" in early 2012, which aims to provide the much needed support for early intervention programs and parent education to those families with special needs children between the ages of 0-6. The beneficiaries include Caritas Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, Fu Hong Society, Heep Hong Society, Po Leung Kuk, and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.

2012: Partnership with Commercial Radio 1 (CR 881)

In Hong Kong, Eu Yan Sang Charitableb Foundation partnered with Commercial Radio 1 (CR1 881) to launch "The Road to Love, Starts From Childhood" to educate Hong Kong citizens on identifying and caring for pre-school children with special education needs.

2012: Collaboration with South West CDC in Singapore

In Singapore, we rendered assistance at the "South West Integrated Community Health Screening" initiative in collaboration with the South West CDC. Launched at Jurong Medical Centre, this programme reached out to elderly and lower income families.

2011: Mercy Relief Fund-raising Event in Singapore

We raised $12,000 in Singapore to support Mercy Relief’s ongoing aids such as Japan’s earthquake and tsunami mishaps.

2011: New Territories Walk Fund-raising Event

Eu Yan Sang participated in the New Territories Walk to help raise funds to provide appropriate care and supportive services to the children and youths. This event was organised by the Hong Kong Community Chest.

2008 - 2012: Showing Support to Endangered Species

In the pursuit of delivering premium-quality TCM products to our customers, Eu Yan Sang is also mindful of acting responsibly in order not to harm the environment. We have pledged not to sell or use any animal parts derived from endangered species (tiger, rhinoceros and bear), and are in full support of the initiative by ACRES and Singapore TCM Organisations Committee (STOC). The ACRES & STOC Endangered Species-Friendly TCM labels are on display at all our retail stores and TCM clinics in Singapore to further raise awareness of the need to protect endangered species. We are the first TCM clinic network that is showing our support towards endangered species.


2009: Fund-raising Through Conduction of Charity Walk in Singapore

We raised S$448,888.88 through conducting a charity walk in Singapore to help the Bethany Methodist Nursing Home, HighPoint Community Services Association and Life! Community Development Ltd. We donated part proceeds of our retail sales in Singapore to these beneficiaries and funded the entire cost of organising the charity drive.

2009: Support of the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation(TAFF) in Malaysia

As part of our effort in supporting community projects during 130th anniversary celebration, Eu Yan Sang Malaysia supported Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation (TAFF) to help poor Malaysian couples realize their dreams of starting a family. 2008: Fund-raising for the Sichuan Earthquake victims

Eu Yan Sang Malaysia raised RM$1,116,159.56 for the Sichuan Earthquake victims through the “Don Di Yin” Charity Campaign held on April 19, 2008. Our offices in Hong Kong and Singapore also donated to help the earthquake victims.

2003: Provision of Free Anti-Viral TCM Sachets During SARS Epidemic

During the SARS epidemic, Eu Yan Sang Centre manufactured and produced 42,000 free Anti-Viral TCM sachets for healthcare workers who were at the forefront of the fight against Hong Kong’s SARS outbreak. The Anti-Viral Formula (Kang Du Bu Fei Pills) was developed by the Chinese University of Hong Kong. We also donated Anti-Viral TCM products worth more than HK$500,000 to Kwong Wah Hospital and TVB for medical and nursing staff, voluntary groups and disadvantaged citizens. As a group, the other offices in Malaysia and Singapore have also supported healthcare workers through other means.

2001: Charity Event in Aid of the Singapore Home Nursing Foundation

We launched a charity event in aid of the Singapore Home Nursing Foundation and raised S$207,000 for needy patients.
