Texcell carried out a viral clearance study, commonly used in the industry to determine the effectiveness of a process in inactivating virus by comparing the total amount of virus initially against the amount of virus left after the anti-viral process.

This viral clearance study for Eu Yan Sang ForestAir Ionizer have been verified by Texcell under study number 1240/02. The test verifies a 99.998% inactivation (4.77 log reduction) of SARS-Cov-2 virus in 3 hours in a 57-litre box. For example, a log reduction of 1 is equivalent to 10-fold reduction, while log reduction of 2 is equal to a 100-fold reduction. A log reduction of 4 and greater is considered highly effective by industry standards in reducing the amount of virus. Control tests showed that in the absence of Eu Yan Sang ForestAir ionizer, 99.999% of the virus remained viable after 3 hours. The study was performed under laboratory setting and not meant to evaluate performance under uncontrolled living spaces.

1. Can Forestair Ionizer remove COVID-19 virus from the air?

Yes. Our Forestair Ionizer have undergone an efficacy test of 1μm aerosol particles (which is a proxy of the COVID-19 virus). 2. Can Forestair Ionizer remove bacteria from the air?

Yes. Our Forestair Ionizer have undergone efficacy tests which was qualified for disinfection and accorded with the requirements of the "Technical Standard for Disinfection" (2002) to remove different strains of bacteria such as Staphylococcus Albus. 3. Can Forestair Ionizer remove pollen from the air?

Negative Air Ions (“NAIs”) remove particles from the air that cause allergies, such as: pollen, dust and mold. There are many types of pollen allergies and the particle sizes of pollen typically range from 10 to 150 microns(μm). The Forestair Ionizer can remove particulate matter up to 10μm (i.e., PM2.5 and PM10).

4. What is the coverage area, is it 20-30 m2 (room size)?

There is no specific coverage area for the Forestair Ionizer – it is based on the no. of air changes per hour (ACH) to achieve. The higher the air change, the faster the removal rate of particles.

In a typical room of 20m2, Forestair achieves an ACH of 12, vs that of a commercial ionizer, in which the ACH is 0.1.

If the room is 40m2, the ACH will be 6.

5. How do you clean or perform maintenance on the Natural Coconut Fibre Ball (i.e., accumulation of dust)?

The Natural Coconut Fibre Ball is maintenance-free. However, it is a good practice to carry out simple cleaning and maintenance once or twice a month. We recommend using a wet tissue or towel to wrap around the coco ball for 10 minutes to absorb dirt (if any). This procedure will also help to moisturise the natural fibre of the coco ball which also prolongs its air cleaning efficiency.

6. When will the Natural Coconut Fibre Ball degenerate? How often should the Natural Coconut Fibre Ball be replaced? When do we need replace the coconut fibre ball? When the ball is dusty? When the ball not emit gushes of wind?

The Natural Coconut Fibre Ball should last for at least a year on the condition that the product is used within the limits set forth in the product’s user guide or under normal usage. The estimated lifespan of a Natural Coconut Fibre Ball is 3 years. This is based on the condition that the products are operated within the limits set forth in the product’s user manual. We provide 1-year warranty for the Natural Coconut Fibre Ball and electronic parts (including control box and adapters).

The dust on the ball (if any) will not affect the air cleaning performance. Gush of wind is not the sole indicator.

No, the dust particles should not fall onto the coco ball when the device is turned on.

Electrical Matters

8. How long can Forestair Ionizer emit NAIs (i.e., 10 years, 5 years or forever)?

We offer a 1-year warranty (including the coco ball). This is based on the condition that the products are operated within the limits set forth in the product’s user manual. We recommend that the Forestair Ionizer be turned on only when it is in use, just like any electronic product.

Do turn off the power when the ForestAir Ionizer is not in use.

Static charges

9. Concerns with static charges

Please be assured that our Forestair Ionizer are classified as low-powered devices and are operated well below the recommended safety limit. The Forestair Ionizer relies on the air ionisation process to deliver clean air. However, this air ionization process may generate some static onto nearby objects. This is normal and regarded safe. Given that our devices deliver high cleaning efficacy with its patented 360-degree Natural Coconut Fibre Ball, touching any part of the coco ball could likely transfer static charges to a person.

While it is certainly safe to touch, by continuing to touch the ball can result in a build-up of static charges in a person. Therefore, if another person B nearby comes into physical contact and touches person A who has a build-up of static charges in him, Person B will experience a minor static shock. As such, do minimise your physical interaction with the Natural Coconut Fibre Ball.

The permanent fixture of metal surfaces and objects in close proximity with the Forestair Ionizer are usually more sensitive to a build-up of static charges over a period of time. It is recommended to keep the Forestair Ionizer at least 1-metre away from electronic devices, such as: Laptops, computer monitors, TVs, and AV sound systems as indicated in our user manual

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

1. FIND A SUITABLE SPOT
At least 50cm, ideally 1 meter from electronic devices to avoid static interference.
To be place at least 15cm away from the wall for better ion emissions.
Do not place the FORESTAIR IONIZER near wet areas, outdoors, or near sources of heat.

2. SET UP YOUR FOREASTAIR IONIZER
Place the coconut fibre ball onto the Ionizer Control Box.
Plug the FORESTAIR Ionizer into an electrical outlet with the supplied adaptor.
Turn on the FORESTAIR IONIZER by pressing the small button on the Ionizer Control Box.

3. CLEAN SURFACES E.G. FLOOR, WALLS REGULARLY
FORESTAIR Ionizer purifies the air by generating negative ions. Negative ions will attract and bind to airborne pollutants which then fall and stick onto surfaces such as floor and walls. Surfaces such as floor and walls should be cleaned thoroughly and regularly to avoid fomite transmission.
